GLENORCHY NURSE CLINIC
Mar 22, 2026
The Nurse’s Clinic in Glenorchy is not publicly funded. In the past, Rural Women and other community groups have supported the cost of the clinic to ensure that the service continues. For the past five years the Glenorchy Community Trust has provided funds to ensure travel costs and consumables are supported and Nurse Debbi can continue her excellent work in this community.
As our population changes with people coming for employment some have assumed that the service is funded by Government and that the Koha is optional. Without the Koha the work that Debbi does for our community would cease.
Nurse Debbi advises that long term residents understand that. To ensure that her work continues we remind people that the Trust and the Koha are an essential part of its service.
Note: school age children and gold card holders are not expected to provide a koha unless their consult requires consumables.
