Happy 2024 GY! We would like to thank everyone who has been participating and putting their composting bins out for collection on Fridays. It's been awesome to see so many of you putting your buckets out! If you haven't registered to the kerbside collections yet, do like our local legend Ronda and register HERE. It's FREE and we provide you with a 20l outside bin. Collections happen every Friday.
We have some exciting news to share, you might have heard from the Lakes Weekly Bulletin news, our initial funding was for a 1-year pilot project which is finishing at the end of this month. We have successfully achieved all the milestones and key indicators initially proposed. We diverted approx 21 tons of organic waste from going to landfill! We have also managed to stay under the original planned budget and therefore we will be able to extend the project until June 2024. Over the next few months we will be looking at ways to obtain long-term funding to keep the project viable for the next few years.
In other news, we also have some amazing composting available for the community. It's our second batch and it's looking much better than the first one! Contact Daniel 02102303775 if you want some compost for your garden!
