CATALYST - Well-Being and Public Policy

Aug 23, 2021 - 6:00pm to 7:30am

Well-Being and Public Policy: a Radically Different Approach

Former NZ Treasury chief economist, now head of Victoria University School of Government, Girol Karacaoglu, says New Zealand is suffering from “boiling frog syndrome.”  And like that frog, sinking into a tranquil stupor as the water gradually heats to boiling point, Aotearoa might also unresistingly be boiled to death if we don’t wake up to the damage we are causing by our current way of life.

What do we need to do and what kinds of public policies do we need to stop the boil up, so that we and future generations can continue to live the lives we wish to?

Registration required and opens on our Eventbrite page a month prior. Entry by koha at the door, with all proceeds going to Wakatipu Community Foundation’s Greatest Needs Fund.
