Food and wine lovers will delight in a chance to experience some of New Zealand’s best food and wine on the weekend of October 28th-29th.

Chef Pete Gawron of The Headwaters Eco Lodge has worked alongside two of the country’s most sought-after and international award-winning winemakers, Grant Taylor of Valli Wine and Phil Brodie of Te Mata Estate to create a set of unparalleled food and wine-pairing experiences.

Choose from one of the wine-pairing dinners with the winemakers, a fun informal double-vertical wine-tasting luncheon, or invite your friends to plan to stay and relax with a full one or two-night package.

Dinner Friday evening will be a delicious six-course meal, showcasing the best of the region. Each course will be matched with either Valli or Te Mata Estate Burgundy or Bordeaux-style wine including two Te Mata Coleraines and collectible Valli Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs.

On Saturday, join Grant, Phil and Pete for a fun wine tasting over lunch where they share their wealth of knowledge as guests journey through a sensory experience exploring TWO verticals of Te Mata Estate’s Bullnose Syrah spanning from 1992 to the 2020 vintage, pulled from Te Mata's library collection.

Saturday evening will feature a beautiful three-course meal with the perfect wine matches selected and introduced by Phil and Grant. Pete has created a Moroccan-inspired menu to open our imaginations to the wide range of cuisines and flavours that the Te Mata and Valli wines can be paired with.

Overnight packages for Friday and Saturday evening are also available.
