COMMUNITY MEETING - GY Airstrip

As you know QLDC adopted the Reserve Management Plan (attached) for the Glenorchy Airstrip last August.  

Since adopting the plan we have been liaising with operators to determine flight levels and to begin the licensing process. 

We have also engaged an aviation consultant to advise QLDC on the licences and the future operation of the airstrip, including setting up the Governance Committee.  Dave Park from Astral has worked closely with aviation in the Wakatipu in the past and has experience with many airstrips in New Zealand of all sizes.

Dave will be in town next week to meet with users and residents who are interested in how the airstrip will be managed. 

There will be a community meeting next Tuesday 14^th at the Glenorchy Town Hall at 4.30pm – 6.00pm.

We welcome you to attend to get an update on the implementation of the Reserve Management Plan and for Dave to hear your views.
