Please join Aurora Energy CEO Richard Fletcher and the Executive Leadership Team for a community meeting in Glenorchy on Tuesday 4^th June. The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss plans around the electricity supply to the area, explain the role the generator plays in providing back-up power and answer any questions you may have.

We’d like everyone who is interested from the Glenorchy community to attend. If you know anyone who would like to come, please feel free to share this invitation with them.

Would anyone like to split a truck load of firewood (3 cubes each) delivered from Queenstown?

The minimum that can be delivered is 6 cubes and we can't use that much.  The price for three cubes delivered is $420.

Glenorchy Golf Club Honesty box Robbed.

It’s with great sadness that I feel that the community should know that we have a thief in town. The honesty box at the golf club was again broken into last night,( the second time in 2 months) . The incident must of taken place after 6 pm as I personally saw in tact at that time, when the netballers were arriving for training. Although it isn’t the toughest of padlocks, a tool such as a jimmy bar must have been required, so I can only presume it was a local not a tourist. 
If anybody has any information, I’d like to hear from you,

We are an eight line zipline course operating in a stunning gorge on Rees Valley Station, 10 minutes from Glenorchy, one hour from Queenstown. Bungy jumps are also being added here in the near future!

For the 2018/19 season and beyond we are looking for enthusiastic zipline guides & drivers plus an all star Office/Sales Managerwho will bring:

–        a passion for the outdoors and local region

–        a professional but fun personality that inspires confidence

–        a responsible attitude to keeping our clients safe, cared for and engaged

–        current first aid certificate preferred

–        P class licence required for drivers and an advantage for guides and office manager

–        Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand a requirement

–        Paradise Ziplines participates in active drug and alcohol testing to ensure a safe workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

In addition guides will bring:

–        a head for heights and physical fitness that allows you to be on your feet all day while carrying equipment and assisting others

–        a self starter who willingly carries out maintenance tasks when not guiding

–        previous zipline guiding experience preferred, some outdoor guiding experience required

 The Office/Sales Manager will be:

–        An all rounder with experience in accounts, reservations, social media management and an excellent phone manner, with knowledge of the local tourism industry an advantage
