WATER CHLORINATION IN GLENORCHY!

Dec 13, 2017

As you will be aware, there was a huge opposition in Glenorchy against chlorination of our beautiful water.

Unfortunately - the Council thinks otherwise - see the Press Release attached below.

There is a Council meeting at 1pm on Thursday 14th at the Council Chambers in Gorge Rd.

Of course we won’t be able to stop this temporary chlorination but equally we shouldn’t sit back and just accept it. We would like to encourage you to attend the meeting. There is actually nothing on the agenda – so no consultation, nothing, but we can go and speak for 2 minutes each – we should at the very least crowd out the Council Chambers.

We’ll have to get our thinking caps on over the summer to put forward a good argument for not having permanent chlorination.

At least there is still a chance that it won’t be permanent – it’s not all over yet!

What a coincidence that today we have press release our water is contaminated and 2 days ago council had a meeting regarding chlorination of our clean water. I would like to question were the water samples are collected and how often they are and have been tested .

My husband I and holiday in Glenorchy. One of the things we love about the area is the water-it is the nicest tasting water we have had for years. We live in Brisbane. We used to have nice water ( not as nice as yours), but then fluoride was added and now the water tastes horrible.
