BIOSECURITY RISK

MYCOPLASMA BOVIS

Most of you will have read about this cattle disease in the media and as far as we know, the Head of the Lake doesn’t currently have any infected farms. The greatest risk is from cow to cow transfer so please think very carefully before you buy any cattle to bring here. Unless you know that a herd is definitely disease free and you have a good record of the animal’s previous movements, please don’t buy them.

MPI is establishing a testing regime in the spring and we will then have a much better understanding of the situation.

Thanks for your cooperation about this.
