GLENORCHY WERO STOP SMOKING GROUP UPDATE

Glenorchy team, Gandalf, is in the current WERO Stop Smoking competition competing against 11 other teams in the South Island.
The teams all start with 10 smokers who try to stop smoking over the 3 month competition timeframe. Each team has a ‘coach’ and a stop smoking support person. Trish Fraser is Coach and support person for the Gandalf team.
$6,500 is up for grabs for a charity the winning team has selected. The Gandalf team has selected the Fire Brigade as their charity and Trish is hoping that team members will step up their quitting activity in the next 3 weeks to win the $5,000 prize end of competition prize. They are currently sitting in 5th= place so not too far off the lead!
Congratulations to Gorettie Breitenberger, Emeric Maisonneuve, Matt Hood, and Becki Nicholson who have all stopped smoking using a mix of nicotine patches, gum, lozenges and e-cigarettes. Hopefully I’ll be able to add to the list by the end of the competition.
Thanks to Sarsha from Glenorchy Yoga for offering a free yoga class to each of the team members and to Rachel and Per from Melt Candles who have donated a Chef’s Candle as a spot prize plus. The Lodge Glenorchy has also provided free coffee and tea for team members at a team meeting!
