We are recruiting now for a Glenorchy based driver for our school bus run and Glenorchy track transport runs.

You will be personable and enthusiastic about our country with a desire to showcase it to our visitors.

The role is to cover Monday to Friday year round for the school bus except school holidays.

Also to cover our track transport season from Late October to late April each summer season.

Requirements for this position are:

NZ Class 1 and/or 2 with P endorsement.  First Aid/ PHEC is also an advantage.

Being fluent in English with the ability to speak other languages would be great too.

Job description

Opening pool 8am (earlier start time is fine upon agreement)

Take cover off pool - 

Remove and clean robot

Closing Pool 8pm - 

Scoop any leaves/debris from pool

Remove any pool toys

Put cover on

Put robot into pool

Blow sweep any leaves

Full clean of showers and toilets

Wipe down door handles, ladder etc

This is a contract position so you will be in charge of your own tax

Rate is $25/hr time - allowed approximately 1.5hrs

Hi all,
As many of you may be aware there is a group of people in Glenorchy working towards possibly building a new early childhood education centre in Glenorchy to meet the growing needs of our rapidly expanding community. We are currently in the process of getting a feasibility study completed but one of the biggest hurdles to getting funding will be showing other uses/benefits to the wider community outside of the ECE.
So my question to the rest of the community is… if we were to get the money to build a new facility on the land where the playgroup is currently, what could we incorporate into the build to make it useful for other groups/purposes?
Ideas so far include:
-playgroup room
-After school care
-kids holiday programme's
-commercial kitchen for community fundraising/hire out/cooking classes
-energy production/support for pool
-wellness/health room for under 5s
-Gym/activity room
-youth centre/evenings?
-educational vegetable garden

The Headwaters is located in the heart of the scenic alpine village of Glenorchy, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. The property is made up of Camp Glenorchy, Mrs Woolly’s Camp Ground and Mrs Woolly’s General Store.

Our busy General Store has a little something for everyone, from handcrafted coffee and speciality foods to beautiful New Zealand Gifts.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Retail Lead who can lead team members during shifts to create a warm and welcoming store for locals and visitors.

We are about to enter our busy season and are looking for an experienced staff member who can start immediately and hit the ground running.

This is a full time permanent position and we pay competitive market rates.

About You

Must have experience in managing a team

The Glenorchy Cafe (GYC) has been one of, if not the most well-regarded cafe in Glenorchy for over 20 years - serving sensational seasonal food and engaging customer service in a rustic setting, both summer and winter.

Hi everyone,

We're wondering how many may be interested in an "old time" film photography club/group.

The difference to the usual photography club is that we are interested in keeping alive the art of film developing, and printing, and of course taking photos with analog cameras.  No previous experience necessary. We can all learn together.

We would be keen on hearing from you if you are interested, and especially if you know if a location where we might establish a community dark room. There is funding available for equipment and supplies, sponsored by the Museum group.
