In the recent weeks QLDC has furthered discussions with relevant parties around the operational implications of locating the GSS treatment plant and disposal field at the Glenorchy Airfield site.
The information gathered has indicated that it is possible to locate the facility at this site and measures can be put in place to allow the site to operate as an airfield and a treatment site.
QLDC has undertaken some discussions with neighbouring landholders to address their concerns and these discussions are ongoing. The next step will be for QLDC to undertake discussions with the current users of the airfield to address any concerns they may have.
The recent works on the new management plan for the airfield site are ongoing, including required hearings and negotiations, which are causing some delays to progressing the GSS project at this site.
