The Advent of Science Diplomacy: A Paradigm Shift in the Making? Global diplomatic efforts to tackle issues like climate change have proven immensely disappointing. But on the other hand, diplomacy has initiated large-scale collaborative efforts like the International Space Station and the Large Haldron Collider. Prof Robert Patman is Head of Department of Politics at University of Otago and last year, with Otago scientist Lloyd Davis, co-wrote “Science Diplomacy: New Day or False Dawn?” Hear him discuss the dos and don’ts of science diplomacy this Sunday, October 11, 5:30pm, The Rees Hotel Queenstown conference room. $5 at the door.
