THE BIG MOW-DOWN - A FUNDRAISER FOR CALDER HOULISTON

This fundraiser will also include a FIRE AWARENESS with Calder’s bus on display and the fire Brigade present.

We realised in the after-math that many of our summer staff and some permanent residents live in alternative living – caravans, cabins, huts, trucks and buses. So we have approach many business today in Queenstown who have donated many prizes for an Auction and also some smoke alarms which will be given to anyone who hasn’t yet thought “This could happen to me!”

We have call it the MOW-DOWN and Brylee Percy donated Dales beard for the course, also Dweeb has donated his hair to be a bold boy for the next few weeks. We have a few pet sheep that will donate their fleece. Other activities include – CAKE STALL, BBQ, LOLLY SCRAMBLE, 3 LEGGED RACES, CARRIAGE RIDES, HORSE RIDES, GUMBOOT THROWING, RAFFLES.

with more being approached tomorrow.

Getting the word out is what we need as we realise that time is not on our side. We are hoping the weather will be kind and people will come out and catch up with each other to get winter behind them and enjoy what we are trying hard to achieve.

Calder is a great guy and has been coming to Glenorchy for many years. He decided to become a permanent resident at the end of last summer and has done an amazing job working as our Yard Manager at Mid Rivers. He is quite over-whelmed with the kindness of this community and will be using Sunday as a perfect opportunity to try and say a very hear felt THANK YOU...
